Ecotoxicological perspectives of toxic heavy metals/metalloids: a contamination profiling in non-industrial rural area

Biohazards, such as heavy metals and metalloids, are known to contaminate the environment. These environmental pollutants are distributed throughout various ecosystems and are eventually build up in the natural habitats of the corresponding biomes. Our study's objective is to assess the amount of hazardous heavy metal and metalloid deposits in the soil and sediment of a rural, non-industrial area. Ecotoxicologists, environmental biologists, and geologists are concerned about metal pollution in soil. Our pilot data indicates that several rural regions are as vulnerable to toxic contamination as industrialised metropolitan areas due to large-scale depositions of these hazardous materials, which may cause serious public health risks issues in near future.
